Mollie + Matt

Austin Museum of Art – Laguna Gloria

Mollie and Matt love the outdoors, they love to travel and they love their Austin 78704 zip code’s eclectic, laid-back vibe. These three elements were thoughtfully and subtly sprinkled throughout their wedding to create a unique, yet timeless, understated and relaxed atmosphere for their 225 guests. This event was – like them – nothing less than Austin cool.

Austin Museum of Art – Laguna Gloria was chosen as the perfect venue to host Mollie and Matt’s outdoor ceremony and reception. The color scheme was classic ivory with touches of celadon – allowing the surrounding natural beauty to take center stage.  Ivory eyelet lanterns hung from the trees and after the sunset, amber uplighting continued to highlight the venue’s natural beauty.  Event collateral also paid tribute to the couple’s love of the outdoors.  A large oak tree motif was printed on everything from welcome bags to reserved signs to ceremony programs.

The couple’s love of travel and sense of adventure was most evident in the food styling.  Guests were treated to three gourmet food stations that incorporated Mollie and Matt’s favorite bite-sized delicacies from Austin, The Mediterranean and Italy.  The unique menu featured such unique options as pecan-crusted, chicken-stuffed poblano peppers with chipotle cream sauce; lamb lollipops with mint jelly; and mini grilled pizzas topped with fingerling potato, gorgonzola dolce, radicchio and rosemary olive oil. Each food station featured a drink pairing: Austin Margarita, Ginger Cucumber Vodka Fizz and Prosecco with Raspberries. The upscale picnic concluded with a late night snack of homemade mini lemon and lime sorbet popsicles. Yum!

If you live in Austin, you know 78704 does its part to “Keep Austin Weird.”  Mollie and Matt incorporated their eclectic 78704 side through one-of-a-kind artistic touches.  The ring bearer’s bowl was an original piece of art that Matt had presented to Mollie with her engagement ring during the proposal.  The live band was an Austin original that kept the crowd entertained all night. Their attire oozed retro swagger and their licks kept the dance floor packed all night with tunes from a wide variety of genres including the bride and groom’s first dance, a Ramone’s cover of “Baby I Love You.” The floral designs were beautifully eclectic and naturally cool – pairing soft romantic lush white florals with architectural modern green succulents.  Bouquets were accented with organic understated floral wraps and centerpieces were contained in clean square kiri boxes.  The couple’s get-away car was a vintage1966 blue Lincoln convertible that took them to Austin’s most exclusive and upscale boutique hotel, Hotel Saint Cecelia, nestled right in the heart of 78704.

No one wanted the night to end – including the CLINK team!  Mollie looked absolutely stunning the entire evening and Matt looked quite dashing – not even their sparkler exit outshone them.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Matt and Mollie Ewing!  Best wishes as you begin your lives together!
