Aarti + Purav

Villa del Lago – Ceremony

Lakeway Resort – Sangeet and Reception

Aarti and Purav had an unforgettable wedding weekend in Lakeway this past Spring. Designing for this unique and fantastic couple was an amazing experience! They had impeccable taste. Their goal was to incorporate their Indian culture into a modern setting.

The Sangeet is the traditional Indian ceremony where guests sing songs, dance and dine on fabulous food all while getting acquainted and celebrating the upcoming nuptials. Aarti and Purav’s Sangeet was held on Friday night in the Travis Room at Lakeway Resort. We completely transformed the space using draping and lighting in every color of the spectrum. We even had a parasol installation on the ceiling in the motif that adorned Aarti and Purav’s stationery suite.

Linens in shades of saffron, fuchsia, teal and citron created a sea of color and alternating table runners made each hue pop. Lanterns and candles completed the look of the tables. The stage was the focal point of the room. It was absolutely stunning; one couldn’t help but stare at it! It was set with brightly colored carpets, pillows and lounge areas. It was the perfect setting to get your henna on!

The other focal point was – the oonjal (aka the swing)! This hand carved wooden creation was by far the most beautiful one I had ever seen!!! Ornate and glorious in every detail – I WANT ONE!

The following day, guests headed to Villa Del Lago to witness the wedding ceremony of Aarti and Purav. Design wise – there was minimal work since this venue is SPECTACULAR! The view, the architecture, the lawn – ALL beyond beautiful! We had a white mandap constructed that was beautifully decorated with lush tropical floral, including hanging garlands of blue cymbidium orchids – minimalist and chic!

After the ceremony, guests headed to the Vistas Ballroom at Lakeway Resort. White pintuck taffeta linens were on the head table that surrounded the dance floor; peacocok taffeta linens adorned the rest of the guest tables.  Floral centerpieces in purple and magenta completed the crisp contemporary look. The ceiling was blanketed with large white lanterns, which – coupled with amazing lighting – made the whole room glow. Acrylic boxes and orchid garlands hung from the ceiling and surrounded the dance floor.

The best design accents of the evening were Aarti and Purav themselves. When I first saw Aarti my jaw dropped – she was stunning. See below for yourself; it’s hard to keep your eyes off of her. And then Puav, wow, the perfect handsome groom to complement his bride!

Aarti and Purav – we had the best time planning and designing your events. You both are so loving and delightful . . . and most importantly – FUN! We loved watching your dreams come to life!!

Love,
Gina and Denise
