Bacon, it’s what’s for dinner…and breakfast….and lunch
It’s no secret that I am a bacon lover, and was a bacon lover way before it became trendy 
So, it was no surprise when my inbox blew up the day BACON announced its grand opening.
First off, its name is BACON. Simple and perfect just like the marvelous meat Next up its menu is mouth-watering greatness. On my first trip, I tried the waffle, which actually had bacon baked into the batter. It was words-can’t-describe good. I call this the “don’t look at me or talk to me” food.
And since Austin is a breakfast taco haven, I tried one for good measure. I have been ordering the same taco, forever: potato, bean, bacon and cheese. This was the best one, by far, I have ever had. They use French fries and their beans have spices that enhance everything. This is not just a taco, it is happiness in a tortilla.
Next trip, I had the chicken and waffles. Again, kid you not, the best EVER! They brine the chicken before frying, which makes it oh so fabulous. Other favorites include the bacon fries, broken yolk BLT and the sweet corn fritters!
Other great BACON facts: it is dog friendly, so bring the pups out to their picnic tables. It offers two choices of flavored bacon daily and a bacon cookie of-the-day (the snickerdoodle is delish),. They even have vegan and vegetarian items available! The service is phenomenal. No I’m-too-cool-to-help hipster attitude here. And the house is adorable
