Things we CLINK to

The Special Event

What a week it has been! The CLINKers have been in Phoenix at The Special Event conference and tradeshow.  This is the time of the year to become educated on the upcoming trends in event design and best practices in event planning, and see the latest event products available, from the top event professionals in the world.

The Special Event is comprised of four days of educational sessions that are divided by “tracks,” such as design, weddings, marketing, etc., so you can easily see which area you would like to learn about, but can also mix and match from different tracks.  Simultaneously, the exhibit hall showcases some of the best vendors in the world, from linens to entertainment. And the Showcasing events each night show how it all comes together.

Here some amazing classes from this year’s TSE conference:

Business and Professional Development – “From Here to Eternity…Understanding the Generation Gap” and “Standard Operating Procedures: Why They’re a Must for Any Business”

Design – “Color Trends and Inspiration: From the Tired and True to the Imagination and Beyond…” and “The Eclectic Event Designed”

Event Management – “Trends in Events 2011” and “Pose and Persuasion: The Art Behind Party Politics”

Event Tools and Resources – “The Ultimate Checklist” and “Event Technology Shopping List”

Food Services – “Delightful, Delicious, De-food and De-design…Deliriously fun year in the life of!” and “Allergen Avoidance Guidelines for Catering and Event Planners”

Sales and Marketing – “Leveraging Social Media Influencers to Help Spread Your Message” and “Showcasing Your Pretty Parties: Showcase Your Hard Work with Stunning Imagery. Details, Details!!”

Wedding Trends – “Going Green in the White World of Weddings: Bringing Eco-Chic Style, Environmental Consciousness and Global Awareness to Brides”

CLINK’s owners Tanya Posavatz and Denise Silverman also presented their own session and had a fantastic turnout and great feedback! Go team!!!!

Some highlights of the trade show this year were a portable ice skating rink that can be used indoors or out, sequined linens that were 100% glam and a new take on the Three Waiters entertainment troupe, based on Jersey Boys! Plus, our favorite: Michael Cerbelli’s: Hot Event and Entertainment Ideas 2011. Michael is an amazing, “larger than life” speaker and he keeps the entire room laughing and in awe of what he is going to showcase as the new hot item we HAVE to have for our events.

Thank you, TSE, for the inspiration, rejuvenation, and fantastic ideas! We can’t wait to get back to work and produce events with the arsenal of information we have absorbed this week. Looking forward to next year in Tampa!
