Texas 4000 Tribute

The Texas 4000 Tribute has always had a special place in our hearts since we helped with their first Tribute celebration in 2006. Texas 4000 is dedicated to fighting cancer with its mantra of “Hope, Knowledge and Charity.” It cultivates the next generation to lead the fight against cancer through its cornerstone event, a more than 4,000-mile bike ride from Austin to Anchorage.  Upon their return to Austin (by airplane, of course!), these UT students and their accomplishments are celebrated by their gala – aptly named “Tribute.”

Last year’s Tribute was especially fun as it was the 10th Anniversary. A recycled bicycle wheel sculpture hung at the entrance of Austin Music Hall to set the mood. The table décor included bicycle chain wrapped around glass cylinders filled with river rocks and candles, while other tables had small bike wheels accompanied by floral arrangements.

The evening included a silent auction with must-have items and an equally entertaining live auction. This event can’t be missed – it is fun and emotional and makes you feel as though you have helped others and brought meaning to other people’s lives.

We are in the midst of planning and designing the 2014 Tribute and we can promise it’s going to be another spectacular year!
