Rachel & Josh

Rachel and Josh got married right after Christmas, which is always a special time, as everyone is generally in the spirit of celebration. They chose Christ Lutheran Church for the ceremony and the Austin Club for the reception. The ceremony was officiated by Rachel’s uncle, a nice personal touch. The aisle was decorated with white poinsettias in chic white boxes trimmed with gray velvet ribbon. The outside of the church was decorated with paper luminaries that cast a warm glow. Because it was December, we chose a gorgeous, wintery palette of crisp white, deep red/purple, and rich gray with navy accents. For dinner, we chose gray velvet damask linens, which looked sumptuous in the candlelight, and was a lovely backdrop for the white and dark red floral. As a special touch, the florist used some of the bride’s family crystal for the ceremony altar arrangement.

They had several sweet, personalized touches. Rachel’s parents gifted them a bible for their wedding, and instead of a more traditional guest book, they asked guests to choose their favorite verse to write on a bookmark for the couple, along with any words of advice. Rachel and Josh love to travel so the groom’s cake was a suitcase with a personalized luggage tag. For their favors, they both love ketchup so decided to give their guests personalized mini bottles of ketchup as a parting gift. And in true Austin style, they left the reception in a pedi-cab. It was a beautiful night for a fantastic couple!
