It’s All in the Details

The Perfect Envelope

You spend hours picking the perfect invitation. So many fonts, ink colors, wording options and paper qualities to choose from.  Then the beautiful works of art arrive and you are tasked with addressing hundreds of invitations.

As you know, you cannot slap a label on your wedding invites; this is a major faux pas! This is where hand calligraphy comes in! Our calligrapher will hand address every invite in a style and color that matches your invitations. Regal swirls, modern blocks or elegant italics – you name it and it can be calligraphied.

Once you have your beautiful addresses done, make sure you check with your local post office so you purchase the correct postage. They offer tons of options for postage and you can go online to find even more! If you are not in love with the selections at USPS, get  a stamp custom designed through Zazzle! Anything you can think of, they can do!

When your envelopes are ready for mailing (seven to eight weeks before your nuptials) take them to your post office and asked them to “hand cancel” them for you.  Hand cancelling means that your invites will not go through a machine and get marred with ink all over your envelope. It is a simple ink stamp that contains the location of the post office and the date, and is placed over the postage stamp(s). You might have to try several post offices because this is a free-service that is very time- consuming that they aren’t required to do. We take them cookies, that seems to help 😉
