Fit to be Tied
The Bow Tie Cause, founded by Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Dhani Jones, is an organization that raises money and awareness for cancer research. On April 13, Goodman Networks and AT&T hosted Texas Bow Tie Day – a fabulous, bi-partisan event in support of The Bow Tie Cause. The Bow Tie Cause, created a one-of-a-kind purple bow tie in support of political collaboration.
The week prior to the event, purple bow ties were created and hand-delivered with invitations on The Capital grounds in support of political collaboration. On this first official Texas Bow Tie day, Dhani was welcomed on the Senate floor and people all over the Capital grounds were donning purple bow ties! When official business was done for the day, guests were encouraged to hop in a pedi cab and take a ride down to the party on a beautiful Austin evening.
The Driskill was chosen to host the soiree, a perfect fit for all our guests who were clad in purple bow ties! The Maximilian Room was lit in deep shades of purple and plum dupioni linens were on all of our cocktail tables. We had three different designs of purple floral arrangements; each container was accented with a purple patterned bow tie – a detail that our guests couldn’t get enough of!
The band set the mood with its fabulous jazzy tunes, while guests dined on a bow tie pasta station and passed hors d’oeuvres. Guests were sent off with a purple gift box of truffles – yum!
