Case Study: Three-Day Annual Corporate Sales and Team-Building Conference

OBJECTIVE

Since 2008, this Texas-based oil production chemical company with 89 offices in 17 countries, has brought in our team to contract, plan and execute its annual sales and team-building conference. We are challenged to maintain branded experiences while creating new and unexpected elements, which serve to keep the annual exchange of ideas and best practices fresh and inspiring.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Unexpectedly, six hours before the Scottsdale-based conference, the Executive Team closed a deal to become acquired by a Fortune 150 company. CLINK organized scattered conference attendees to welcome/greet the executives as they arrived on property. As the limos pulled up, 300 people were gathered to welcome the entire team  – eager to greet and congratulate the executives for a job well done! The executives were shocked and touched. It was an unforgettable moment—well documented by a professional photographer.
  • Every year, we start off by challenging ourselves to “kick it up a notch.” What can we do that’s unexpected, and will be appreciated by this group of loyal employees? Last year, our opening session concluded with a Monday Night Football event. So instead of lining up 300 conference chairs in typical conference fashion, CLINK brought in 150 cushy sofas complete with custom company-branded throw pillows. Monday Night Football was enjoyed the way it was meant to be . . . with bar food, beer and comfy sofas! The sofas remained in the General Session room throughout the week for all keynotes and general sessions and the team absolutely loved it!
  • On day 2 of the conference, we got word that the Fortune 150 company’s CEO would be coming in for an impromptu speech and Q+A session with our client’s employees. CLINK immediately hopped to the task ensuring the General Session room was prepared for this VIP and re-working the day’s sessions to ensure the team didn’t miss a moment of the content!
  • The final night of the conference, we hired a hypnotist to give the group a few good laughs before everyone packed up and headed home the following day. And this guy did not disappoint! The group had a blast watching fellow employees try to ballet dance and sing like Elvis! It was a great way to wrap up a successful conference week!
